Africa Innovation Summit (AIS) welcomes United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Accenture as sponsors
UNDP and Accenture are partnering to change the face of Africa’s development by implementing the YAS! portal-platform
The Africa Innovation Summit (AIS) (www.AfricaInnovationSummit.com) is delighted to announce and welcome United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) (www.UNDP.org) and Accenture (www.Accenture.com) as sponsors.
UNDP and Accenture are partnering to change the face of Africa’s development by implementing the YAS! portal-platform. YAS! is aimed at putting Africa’s youth at the centre of the continent’s development based on access to resources, opportunities, an ecosystem of stakeholders, and funding. For more information visit www.YASdg.com
The East Africa activation of the YAS! portal-platform will kick off in Kigali at AIS.
As part of this activation of YAS! UNDP is calling on East and Southern Africa’s youth to present their innovations to help end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people everywhere enjoy peace and prosperity. These objectives are in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations and present the most ambitious development agenda to date. If you have an innovation that can help us attain the bold goals, then click here (https://goo.gl/4JcS6b) to find out how to participate. Winning entries will receive funding to develop, validate and scale ideas.
AIS is proud to partner with UNDP and Accenture in the shared goals of supporting economic growth through investment in economic infrastructure for improved quality of life for all.
AIS will take place from 6 to 8 June 2018 in Kigali, Rwanda, under the esteemed patronage of His Excellencies President Paul Kagame and Pedro Pires (ex-President of Cabo Verde). This is the second AIS, following the first highly successful Summit that took place in Praia, Cabo Verde.
AIS serves as a platform for multi-stakeholder dialogue and a catalyst for coalition and action towards building robust innovation ecosystems in Africa. AIS 2018 will focus on innovation as a tool to address Africa’s pressing challenges, such as health, water and sanitation, food security, governance and energy. The AIS II will include the main Summit in Kigali; a series of special and side events, as well as an Exhibition of up to 50 African innovations selected from across the continent.
Distributed by APO Group on behalf of Africa Innovation Summit.
